NOT COMING FROM PARIS
Founded in 2014 by two friends, in a few years DDM - that means funny but also strange gentleman - stood out in the fashion world. Dany and Maxime, the co-founders with no specific previous experience in design but with the dream to create their personal clothing line, come from Dijon, a small city in the east of France.
The brand highlights its estrangement from the french capital in its motto “Not from Paris Madame”, that still remains DDM signature. This maxim symbolizes the whole humility that the two co-founders wished to impart to the brand.
Being humble didn’t stop them from reaching success and approval, thanks to their collections typified by a mix of modern approach, retro aesthetic - especially inspired by the spirit of ‘90s - and a unisex vision, because attitude is what matters most in fashion, according to the creators. Their inspiration comes from their youthful days and the lifestyle of vintage movies. Drôle de Monsieur means elegance, details and comfort and it is proved in its last collection. Spring/Summer 2020 preserves the easygoing look of DDM. The target, as confirmed by the co-founder Dany Dos Santos, is to respect their identity as much as possible, indeed. “For that, we had to return to oversized cuts, faithful to our first collections. We started with very soft colors, pastel tones, for something fresh.” SS20 consists of everyday wear pieces: oversized tees, pants, shorts and shirts. The product line is perfect for those who want a fashionable and polished look feeling comfy at the same time.
