For this new chapter of Good Practice, Degli Uberti's team has decided to give space to electronic music, inviting Louder Visions, a Roman musical collective made up of BLCKEBY, BMBX and PREST.
Furthermore, C.P. Company has decided to collaborate with the whole team by sponsoring this new episode of Good Practice.
The purpose of this event is to bring to light a culture that has gradually been lost over time: clubbing.
Young people had lost the desire to search for sounds that came out of the comfort zones of EDM and trap, easily danceable, thus estranging themselves from the whole breakbeat world.
However, the major cause that, in a sense, signed the end of clubbing culture, was COVID-19.
Because of it, all the clubs in the world - and, more generally, the whole entertainment world - were forced to close, people were afraid to go out, to say hello to each other.
The masks made life difficult, newspapers and television news reported every day the thousands of deaths that this disease has caused.
And just when everything seemed over, after the first re-openings, which, however, did not foresee that of the clubs, the second wave arrived, and then the third.
Today, due to, or in a certain sense thanks to, the restrictions imposed as a response to the pandemic, people have found the urge to move, to let loose, to dance at fast rhythms that only electronic music can give.
Let's let Louder Visions explain, according to them, what the clubbing culture represents:
F: “Hi guys! I hope you are well! First of all, for those who don't know you, introduce yourselves!”
BLCKEBY: “Hi mate! We are Luca aka Prest, Marco aka BLCKEBY, Pietro aka BMBX, Giulio, Fabrizio and Lorenzo. All together we have founded Louder Visions.”
F: “What is Louder Visions? Why was it born? Who is part of it? What are the different roles?”
BMBX: “Louder Visions is an artistic collective and DJ network born in 2020 from the union of the musical and artistic paths of Prest, BLCKEBY and BMBX, all DJs based in Rome who previously collaborated - through Radio Sugo, an independent radio from Rome - but they felt the need to deepen their respective sounds together in dynamics related to clubbing. The basic idea was precisely to create a DJ network with which each one express their own nuances of electronic music, but always linked by a minimum common denominator that would allow us to perform and bring our idea of clubbing both as individuals and as a b2b between two elements and as a showcase in which all three of us perform. In addition to the musical aspect, which is well defined, Louder Visions also tries to have a visual impact, consistent with the sound it proposes, and always tries to be involved in suitable and curious musical situations towards listening to what is proposed. These last two aspects are handled by Giulio, Fabrizio and Lorenzo who, precisely,
take care of the presence on social media, graphics and booking of the collective.”
F: “Tell us why you have chosen to approach the world of electronic music and, consequently, of clubbing.”
PREST: “This question does not have a precise answer, each of us (referring to the DJs of the group) has not "actually" chosen to approach the world of electronic music, more specifically to club sounds. We believe it is simply an aspect of everyone's artistic vision. Prest and BLCKEBY are, in fact, also producers and certainly explore different sounds from each other and not necessarily club. Clubbing is, of course, an important aspect of the life of each of us and the research that is put into the tracks to be passed to each set highlights precisely the desire to communicate to the public what we like and in some way the need to want to share and do discover hidden sounds and as special as possible and, of course, make people dance.”
F: “Do you think Rome is ready to open the doors to clubbing? Are there any valid realities?”
BLCKEBY: “Rome is a giant city that has had in its history very large and renowned clubs of a certain type, but also numerous clubbing experiences that can be defined as "undergound". We believe that it is full of extremely valid and often unknown realities, as well as, unfortunately, there are realities that sometimes do not seem to be interested in musical research but only in selling a
product that appears sparkling but in reality lacks in substance. We, in our own small way, try to do everything possible, but there are indeed many Roman realities that we esteem and that strive every day to keep the clubbing flag high, as happens abroad where this culture is historically more "developed" than here in Italy.”
F: “What future projects do you have in mind?”
PREST: “Louder Visions is a relatively young project, the main goal for the future is to ensure that it is possible to spread our name by always binding to experiences and situations that are valid and consistent with our style and musical genres. It would be nice to be able to bring our showcases not only around Italy, but also abroad and it would be fantastic to continue to have the opportunity to collaborate with strong realities and with a defined artistic vision, cool and similar to ours as in this case. C.P. Company and Degli Uberti, to whom our super thanks go for the wonderful experience we had together.”
F: “Thank you very much guys! Good luck!”
Louder Visions, in collaboration with Degli Uberti and C.P. Company, recorded a small preview of
what their set is, hoping to bring as many people as possible to electronic music.
